About Us
In 1977, we began in the quarantine business in Texas and New York. Our warehouse
was located in Houston, Texas and by 1980 we were the third largest wholesalers
of birds in the U.S. The Scarlet Macaw began selling birds at retail to the public
in 1981. Scarlet Oak Aviaries then opened in 1985 as a breeding
farm and retailer. We have been family owned for 25 years and will continue our
deep and abiding interest in birds. You are welcome to visit our facility.
Our birds are handfed and socialized. We offer new birds that are still in the hatching
process and we offer them at 21 days old for discounted prices. We take consignments
from time to time for birds with troubled owners. Come by and see what we have to
offer to you.
We have been in business for over 25 years, and we think that means that we are
doing something right!
